The Flame by Leonard Cohen
I always go boldly into poetry collections, fancying myself someone who ~gets it~. But I don’t, and it’s not the author’s fault. If you’re a Leonard Cohen fan I’m sure this is gold.
I did appreciate the fact that it was his final work, and he knew that, which gives the whole collection a weird somber feeling (in a good way).
Crafting a Patterned Home by Kristin Nicholas
A cool reference for basic pattern making, especially if you’ve never made any by hand before. I picked this up after watching Lisa Congdon’s pattern challenge on CreativeBug. She doesn’t mention it, it was just serendipitous-ly on the “new” shelf at the library.
Kristin’s farmhouse is beautiful to flip through, and her tutorials are easy to follow. She also sent me off to research the Bloomsbury Group and Maud Lewis, whose work I hadn’t seen before but quite adore.
